Advanced First Aid

To have participants be able to activate the Emergency Response System and be able to administer advanced first aid procedures in life-threatening situations. Designed for Lifeguards, security personnel, teachers, fitness instructors, health and safety committee members, designated workplace first aid team members, volunteer firefighters, and internal EMS personnel. Wilderness First Aid Course

To have participants be able to a provide first aid procedures in life-threatening situations in remote and challenging environments. Our Wilderness first aid differs significantly from standard first aid courses and other training that are oriented toward urban environments. This course teaches how to manage medical emergencies when hospitals and rescue services may not be available for an extensive time period. We prepare students for emergency situations that involve prolonged patient care, severe environments, and improvised equipment. Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) – 80 Hours

Rescue 7 Inc.’s Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) is a comprehensive training session designed for those individuals that will called to be the first rescuers on the scene of an emergency. The program reflects the latest advances in first aid and CPR. EMR provides primary rescuers with the information and skills they need to respond to medical emergencies with confidence and care. This 80 Hour course will focus on Primary and Secondary Scene Management, Advanced First Aid Procedures, Airway Management, Oxygen Therapy, C-spine Management, Spinal Boards, Patient Packaging, Pharmacology, Traumatic Injuries, Medical Injuries,  Childbirth, Multiple casualty incidents, and Patient Transfer to EMS. The course is designed to meet the Paramedic Association of Canada National Occupational Competency Profile for the practitioner level of emergency medical responder (EMR). Prerequisite: Current Standard First Aid with CPR Level C. Course Includes: Student Manual and Workbook. Completion Requirements: 100% attendance, skills demonstration, two evaluated scenarios, and 80% min. passing grade on written exam.

This 4 day course will focus on Primary and Secondary Scene Management, Advanced First Aid Procedures, Airway Management, Oxygen Therapy, C-spine Management, Spinal Boards, Patient Packaging, and Patient Transfer to EMS.

Marine Advanced First Aid (MAFA)

Course provide general knowledge of first aid in the marine environment. Candidates are taught how to intervene in life-threatening emergencies including; unconsciousness, choking, rescue breathing, CPR, and deadly bleeding. Candidates also are introduced to pharmacology and other advanced topics/interventions for the marine industry. Transport Canada Marine Safety (TP 13008) Approved. According to the Transport Canada web site the marine advanced certification is required by:

  • Any person who wants to obtain a Master´s or Officer´s certificate or endorsement;
  • The person designated to provide first aid on board a vessel engaged on a near coastal voyage, class 1 or unlimited voyage.
This is a 5 day course. Participants must register 14 days prior to course date as required by Marine/Transport Canada.
